Tsirak's Observances and Studies of Patrician Wyverns

Spoiler
Tsirak's Observances and Studies of Patrician Wyverns
written by Sherina Tsirak-Copperfield

--()--

Patrician mountain peaks host many creatures. Some of them peaceful, some of them hostile.
In an environment where the prey items are scarce, predators have grown to be tougher, stronger, faster and more determined than they would be in any other place. Wyverns, bears and bullettes, each of them deadly, graze the ascending grassland turning into steep, rocky peaks.
Usual prey, due to the absence of forested areas, is small and mountain chain's prey population consists mostly of rabbits, small game hidden in the bushes, and, well - of other predators.
Due to the size of adult and old wyverns, the large bears are being hunted and torn apart by these magnificent, feral wild creatures.
I welcome you to the study on Patrician Wyverns.

--()--

•Body•
The scaly, muscular and dextrous body of a wyvern bears, aside from a whip-like tail with poisonous stinger on its tip, a pair of giant, strong wings, muscular hind legs, and a draconic head.

The head of a wyvern is a beautiful sight of nature.  Balance of tan-brown scales and greyish fur growth, with their cold eyes staring from under a thick brow bone, and their maw, able to tear apart a dire bear with the sheer strength of its jaw and fangs. Their ears are hidden beneath a small tuft of fur behind fin-like shapes on the sides of its head, so the sensitive organ is being protected from strong winds.

Their wings, able to fly and glide through the sharp mountain wind, are strong and often used both as wings and as front legs.
The wing thumbs allow the wyvern to climb cliffs and rocky mountainsides, thus allowing it a chance to sneak up on its prey.

Besides their blood and scales, their tail stinger and poison can be used for weapon crafting.
As soon as the poison gets into a bloodstream, the victim suffers a great pain, and can succumb quickly if their body is frail.
Their hide, scale spine plates and wing membrane can be used to craft light armor. And by using the wing membrane for joint areas, the movements of the wearer won't make any detectable sound.

•Behavior•
Territory markings of wyverns include claw scratches, rubbed trees (which matches the territory marking of bears), and faint trails of poison-tinted rock or foliage. In fact, a wyvern will rarely steal the prey of another wyvern.

•Social•
Even though mostly solitary, the young wyverns of the Peaks can be found in groups, wandering the lower grassy parts of the mountain chain.
Another exception seem to be giant bear hunts, where a handful of wyverns will swoop down onto the back and head of the monstrous creature, beating it down with their wings, rending its flesh with their claws while they use their beastly maws to crush and snap through the thick bones of their prey.

Looks like we have the ' Book of the Month '. I will put it on show as soon as possible.

I will enjoy some tea to discuss the finer points of your book.

Citizens of Valstiir

Our Lord Archmage Valstiir is fine and is currently focused on an experiment important to the Enclave. Do not be concerned and our lord  has everything in hand.

On another matter, those Nobles and Merchants travelling to Hadrian should take care and bring your own Guards or Mercenaries to protect themselves and their interests while in and around the town. You may be aware the 14th Legion and other Dukurrus soldiers have now been recalled to the Enclave.

We will watch the situation in the town and advise you the citizens of any other concerns.

I would like to see a special loot item for the storyline that only the new characters would receive, just to encourage some new PCs for it.  A 'welcome to Hadrian' sort of item.  I would happily play Mayor Morgaine if required as a plot device (and as you know I love to welcome new arrivals  :) ).  Grano at the Adventurer's Society would make a great NPC to start a quest event.  Perhaps he could even be testing out young adventurers to see who has the stones to take over the running of the hall for him?

Some sort of incentive to encourage the new PCs to continue to cooperate would be wonderful.  Obviously the players must provide some of that themselves.  But I would love to see a new party of US or UK players cooperating as closely as our recently assembled Aussie one does.

Like Sherina I would like to see the festival grounds get some use.  Could a greased up pig get loose again?  Could The Goliath return to challenge all comers?   ;D

Cool, come up with some items

Got some items for the Special Story/Plot line.

Need something, maybe a 1-3 items for new character pack.

Great bunch of ideas!

Maybe a trade & craftsmanship fair could be good, the traders could also have some better enchanted items available than regular stores have, to 'show off' their work. And players would get to spend something.
Full-on fair with a food stand and other sorts of stuff beside markets, ideally with zero "DM-management" necessity.
Festival map could be used, it might be a lot of fun and wholesome RP.

Sheri's true neutral, so if there's any way she will be able to help out with the 'neutral' line mentioned, let me know.

Yeah I like that. We have the update in place for the Crafting Guild and some of the community building and putting ideas out on what to do with below the Crafting Guild. So I think we could do that. Maybe a Master Craftsman is visiting hte region?

Open for Ideas for a Community Week

We are looking to do a Community Week in the coming weeks. The date would be around 6th July to 14th July ( at this stage to give you any idea and when some of the team would be around ).

It would be targeting new players and characters to get involved in the server and factions.

Some of the current Ideas would be ...

- Easy of access to Subrace and Monster Application options

- Easy of access to Faction entry levels

- Special Story/Plot line ( holding back on details but would be seeking Neutral Alignments at this stage from NG > TN > NE )

So this is where we open it up to you guys, to tell us what you would like to see during this Community Week. Thoughts and ideas.

Please be clear and post in a positive nature

Thanks in advance

Arcanist Guild - Warning to Citizens

Citizen's of Valstiir, do not be alarmed.

If you see this creature do not approach it but seek your nearest Arcanist Guild member or Guard.

These creature could also be seen in lower Netheril

We are looking to update Player House information.

I have an older list and looking to update the signs plus free up some older un-used houses/caves.

If you have a current character in game and have a house/cave, please advise here

Thanks in advance
