Pheroths Search (Any DM. This would be for The Lab.)
« on: May 29, 2018, 05:00:16 pm »
Moving into the Library of Valistarr, Pheroth would begin to look for any information on the Channel Mountains or Myconid Forest and specifically if there were any Temples to Amauntor that may have been lost, or contact ceased from. If none would be found he would head to the small church in Hadrian on the matter. He would also look for any information about the regions in particular as well as any mage towers reputed to be in the area.

Channel Mountains
These mountains effectively cut Netheril’s northernmost lands in half. Several mountains were believed unclimbable, and many dare-takers and adventurers did nothing but prove this theory again and again by tumbling from their peaks to a jagged death. The northern Channel Mountains were home to a community of cloud giants led by the Amanir clan. This spellcasting family led the collection of 40-some cloud giants from 1417. They solidified their relationship with Netheril by trading with the waterborne city of Harborage.

Myconid Forest
This forest is named for the indigenous fungusmen who inhabite its depths. No animosity exists between this race and the Netherese, since the forest is not logged too severely and new trees are planted. The myconids know the forest relies on its borders to maintain the humidity of its interior, which in turn the myconids relied on for their continued survival.

There are no mentions of any Temples to Amauntor that may have been lost, or contact ceased from. There are some tales, though, or a pilgrimage of priests of Amauntor going missing on the Patrician Plains.

Seeing the entry about the Channel mountains Pheroth would look for more information including their geography and topography, and geology to see if the peak of one of these may be suitable for a stronghold and Temple or lab.

Additionally when he was not studying on this he would venture to the clerics of Amauntor to ask about the possibility of the failed Pilgramage and what its end goal was to be for it to head out into the Patrician Plains.

With the mountains so vast and unexplored there is no such information available, just what was found before.

As for the pilgrims, it seems they thought to bring the teachings of Amauntor to the savage barbarians of the plains.

Seeing that the Channel mountains leaves him with no information he decides to form an expedition to go there with aventurers and see about seeing for himself.

On the matter of the Pilgrims though, he decides to head to the Patrician Planes and the the outpost of the Barbarians there to inquire about the Amauntor Pilgrimage and what fate befell it if they know or heard anything.
