Research: Cities and Exports
« on: August 08, 2018, 10:04:47 pm »
Chester Rutherford walks into the Library of Valstiir in search of information on different cities in the empire.

He is looking in mainly the area of Seventon, and the towns Gustaf, Gilan, Nauseef, Moran-Fenwick, Gers and Janick. He wants to know the total distance and safety of travel between Hadrian and these cities by land, water and airship. He is looking for information on the exports that those towns provide.

He is also looking for more information on Shadow Iron and the possibility of locating veins of it around the area of Hadrian or other cities.

He is also looking for blueprints on the construction of different tools used around Hadrian.

The main export of the towns of Seventon is food, mainly fish harvested from the Narrow Sea, which is in high demand all across the Empire. Seventon imports mainly arms and armor, gems and raw minerals.

By land to Seventon would require crossing 120 miles of hostile plains. Travel by airship would not be cost effective. The best way to go between Hadrian and Seventon is by using the slow, deep Nehteril River.

To find more veins of Iron would require the hiring of prospectors to scour the lands and search. While the iron has been found in this area, as of yet no substantial veins have been found.

While Hadrian and the smaller rivers about it are rich in gem deposits and gold as well are good grade iron ore, what comes in from the west City of Conch is far more valuable and abundant than anything in finding so far in the empire. A land route to Conch from Hadrian would again be a non-linear distance of more than 120 mils over the hostiles plains and through the heartland of the most savage of the Barberian tribes.
