Skinnable animal corpses and leatherworking
« on: July 12, 2018, 12:54:50 pm »
Greetings everyone.

Most animals should leave behind a 'corpse' object that you can 'use'.  If you have a skinning knife you will attempt to skin the animal to receive raw meat and a pelt.

Pelts need to be cured in a tanning oven, using tanner's salt and kindling.   You will get either a cured hide, a ruined hide, or nothing.
Tanner's Salt is made by crafting Lime and Salt in the Alchemist's Workbench.
Cured hides need to be tanned in a 'tanning bath'.  For this you will need Tannic Acid, made by crafting in the Alchemist Workbench.  Requires 1 normal log. (Will be replaced by oak logs later)
You will receive either a tanned hide, a ruined hide, or nothing.

The Leatherworking Table allows you to prepare the tanned hides for the tailor.  You will need Kindling and Beeswax to harden the tanned hide into Hardened Leather, or Tanning Oil to soften the tanned hide into Softened Leather.

Currently Beeswax, Tanning Oil, and the skinning knife are not craftable or gatherable.  This will be added at a later date.
