"War against those savages has been going on since the settlement and unification of Seventon over a thousand year ago. Disgusting beasts that they are are no better than orcs. You will need to be more specific in what you are looking for exactly"

Congenio Ioun

Congenio Ioun was an arcanist and inventor of the Empire. He was considered the first great arcanist of Netheril, famed for creating the popular magical items known as ioun stones in 397 NY. Congenio is known to have created at least thirty different types of ioun stones.

Congenio Ioun was born in 364 NY in the early Nether Age of our Empire and was a talented arcanist from a very young age.

At the time, Netherese priests and Arcanists alike believed that large objects such as shields and suits of armor were simply too big to be enchanted, and (mistakenly) assumed that only small or slender items—pebbles, small stones, pieces of cloth, daggers, and the like—could be enchanted to bear magic. Congenio worked under this assumption and so he worked exclusively with small, semi-polished stones. In the year 397 NY, he created what he initially called Congenio's pebbles. This was a previously unheard-of achievement: he was aged only 33 and this was the first magical item he had created, marking him as one of the greatest arcanists of his age.

Congenio's pebbles soon became enormously popular with his fellow Arcanists and were in great demand. Over the next 54 years, the anhedral, echinid, hexagonoid, spindle, pebble, star, and round stones were developed and introduced by Congenio or others.

In 451 NY, at the suggestion of a close friend, Congenio renamed his pebbles to the much more catchy Ioun's stones. Under this name, the cephaloid, cube, cylinder, decipton, dendroid, dodecahedron, ellipsoid, enneid, euhedral, hectoid, helicid, heptid, monoclinoid, nephroid, ovoid, octahedron, orthorhomboid, peg, pentahedron, prism, pyramid, rectangle, septahedron, sexahedron, tile, and tredyhedron stones were created by Congenio or others and became widespread throughout the Empire.

Congenio himself created over thirty of these, including the prism that allowed one to see in the dark and another that granted its holder a temporarily raised power and might.

He lived an incredibly long life, almost a thousand years. In 1319 NY, Congenio finally passed to the realms of the gods.

Golems are magical constructs made of inert matter animated by powerful Arcanists through the use of spells during magical rituals. The main aspect differentiating one type of golem from another is the material from which it is built. There are four standard types of golems, from weakest to strongest: flesh golems, clay golems, stone golems and iron golems. The flesh golem is created from human remains, and the others are created from earthen components: clay, stone and iron respectively. Virtually any material can be used to create a golem, and hundreds of different types of such creatures have been described but all are based off one of the 4 main arch types.
Any Further information is kept locked away by the Arcanist Guild

Netherese Library / Re: Research: Dragons

One of the librarians says "Sorry, we do not really have any records like that. Most dragons when found are captured as pets for the Arcanists. There is no real reason to track dead ones. But I'm sure if you went out and about the lands, you might find some remains somewhere.. or at least find a place that might have once been a dragon's lair."

By edict of Archmage Vyctoria Valstiir

Our lady has been in council with her nobles and the Arcanist Guild trying to find a solution to the incident in the lower city of Hadrian in which resulted in some unfortunate deaths.

A solution has been reached and is now set in stone. None may question her word.

First, those legionnaires killed in the incident shall be given full resurrections under her orders bar the commander who gave the order to attack.

Head Inventor Baldron Yorst will be stepped down from his position for his inept handling of the situation. A new head of the Inventor will be chosen in due time.

The Arcanist Guild will withdraw from its position of neutrality in the conflict between the lady’s enclave and Roz'dha and will side with her in full.

The Arcanist Cashand has been reprimanded for his use of heavy-handed tactics and place on probation. While he acted in self-defense and with in the guidelines of the Guild, the use of death magic was not needed in this situation.
While on Probation the Arcanist is to be the liaison between the guild and the other houses in coordinating efforts to counter Roz'dha. Once the other enclave is defeated his probation will be lifted. Any actions that are deemed to be against the empire during this time of probation will be dealt with swiftly and harshly.

Lord Dukarrus has been reminded that while he has the job to protect the low city he does not have the power to declare who is an enemy of the empire. The house overstepped their authority greatly in this case.

Our lady would like to remind the people that the Arcanist Guild /is/ the foundation of Netheril. Without the guild, there would be no hot and cold, clean running water, no cooling boxes to store their food in, no chilled wine or ale at the inns, there would be no sanitation, no endless fires to heat houses, no automated tools to do menial tasks, no everlasting lanterns and candles to light the streets and houses, no airships, no proclamation systems, without the guild there would be no Netheril. While this does not place them over the law, the members are to be treated, at the very least, with the same respect as those in the noble house.

With the mountains so vast and unexplored there is no such information available, just what was found before.

As for the pilgrims, it seems they thought to bring the teachings of Amauntor to the savage barbarians of the plains.

deltaTimeΔ⏳ - 05/14/2018
Dice should not break stealth any more, if used from /r
DMs should be able to see what's killing PCs now.(edited)
Subdual might be fixed?

deltaTimeΔ⏳ - 05/14/2018
A fix for isle of Sauros boat.
A new method of spawning treasure should see locations much more diverse and less scattered around edges.
The treasure part of treasure now spawns on the X and the hole spawns beside it, to make it so it can't get trapped in walls (nearly as much)
Treasure chests and bodies now despawn after they're been looted dry
Treasure holes now despawn 60 seconds later to prevent walk issues.
A certain fairy now only doles out maps one at a time, per PC. If you have to 'clear' a map (due to it spawning in an inaccessible location) you can do it by talking to her after activating the map in the correct area.

deltaTimeΔ⏳ - 05/15/2018
As of next reset...
Player description tool working. Scripter needs to learn the difference between II or &&.
Treasure points/x's/chests will spawn at the ground height, not 0.
Old treasure waypoints get destroyed now.

deltaTimeΔ⏳ - 05/15/2018
Isle of Sauros transition is actually fixed..
Don't judge me on how dumb it is. Blame the tileset creator.

deltaTimeΔ⏳ - 05/20/2018
Treasure should no longer spawn in trees, even though it's not Grigs fault you slackjaws can't fly.
Added a few new secret scripts, that you'll be told about in the very near future.

May 23, 2018
deltaTimeΔ⏳ - 05/23/2018
Fixed a bug with dying not persisting, or doing weird things.

deltaTimeΔ⏳ - 05/23/2018
Reduced the time between rests by a factor of 1/4

June 2, 2018
deltaTimeΔ⏳ - Last Saturday at 2:11 PM
Removed the rat that spawns with treasure drops.
Lights and Floating Disks should follow across transitions more reliably.
Agnes and the pig farmer quest should maybe stop bugging out now.
False Life doesn't stack anymore.

It seems there is nothing on this Order in the library. You are asked, however, if you could rectify this you would be paid well for it.

Channel Mountains
These mountains effectively cut Netheril’s northernmost lands in half. Several mountains were believed unclimbable, and many dare-takers and adventurers did nothing but prove this theory again and again by tumbling from their peaks to a jagged death. The northern Channel Mountains were home to a community of cloud giants led by the Amanir clan. This spellcasting family led the collection of 40-some cloud giants from 1417. They solidified their relationship with Netheril by trading with the waterborne city of Harborage.

Myconid Forest
This forest is named for the indigenous fungusmen who inhabite its depths. No animosity exists between this race and the Netherese, since the forest is not logged too severely and new trees are planted. The myconids know the forest relies on its borders to maintain the humidity of its interior, which in turn the myconids relied on for their continued survival.

There are no mentions of any Temples to Amauntor that may have been lost, or contact ceased from. There are some tales, though, or a pilgrimage of priests of Amauntor going missing on the Patrician Plains.

Right now it's just used to sell for coins. When jewelry crafting is put in it will be used in that.

You just have to control your camera angles better with the middle mouse button when in a forest :)

Yes, the crafting is on a slow rollout as we rebuild it, basically, and change it and balance it. So far there is mining, digging, gold panning, smelting, Blacksmithing, and pottery working.
