Rumours and whispers can be heard in the regions tavern's and inns about an enclave where you need a strong will or your animal nature will take over. This is laughed at as a joke but other say they have seen it with there own eyes. Either way this enclave has been seen of late moving over the Patrician Plains.

Farmers of Conch are heard complaining to whomever will listen, about the increase in crows attacking there farms and taking their crops. Some say it is the circle of nature and these crows will die out when the foods is gone but this also means the town will suffer in a loss of food supply. Others say their is someone or something behind it but do not know who or why someone would do this.

Those that sit and listen to the local Rengarth plainsmen around a campfire, are told of a story of a lost army. The story varies from campfire to campfire but one thing is clear in the stories told, they all speak of the strength of the army and the fact that the leader of the army was mislead.

Those travelling near the path to the Twisted Caves and Fang Peak will notice some activity from possible earthquakes in the area. The local Rengarth plainsmen say that the Gods are awakening ...

Denvar's Bridge suffered an attack from a raging Goblin Warband, many would-be heroes, mercenaries and even the odd money-hungry monster stood guard against the onslaught.

The commonfolk throughout Conch start to get agitated with the talk of Netherese overloads returning to the lands, some whisper of monsters stealing away their children in the night while others ignore such concerns with the struggles of daily life being a more serious concern.

The University held an open day today, a number of new apprentices where welcomed to study fulltime and more students have registered to learn the Arcane Arts at this well known place of study in the region.
A small party was held at the West Netheril Trade Company, as fulltime merchants have been added to the company. Drinks were had and contracts signed ... talk of trade and information where topics of conversation.
A group of gang members had been seen moving around the Slums District. Some say they had been new intakes into the gang after being tested. Other say it was a gang war over turf. Either way the Slums is a dangerous place to be seen unless you known the locals.

In recent days, people in the slums and out in the fields have sworn by every god that they see large packs of rats moving about. Some have even had near fatal encounters. No one knows for sure why the rodent population is suddenly so noticeable but the rat catchers of Conch are making a killing they say.

People go missing all the time. Conch is a cruel and rough place surrounded by threats on all sides always. But the number of missing has been going up and while some are content to blame it on the gangs and monsters of the slums; even they notice their own going missing at a higher rate. Those who pay attention and look past the rhetoric and propaganda of the rich and influential are concerned.

Birds are seen circling the marshlands in the morning and in the eve. Some say there must be food there, other say this is not normal for birds. Either way the farmers still complain about crop looses to crows.

The University is a buzz with a group of apprentices researching and collecting information on a Lost Village, that in the past had a connection with one of there own. What it means to the University and the apprentices is unsure at this time but many an apprentice has burnt the midnight candles in search of information.
Talk around the Markets district is the bodies that have been found near and around the creek dock area. The unusual thing is the state of the bodies, with little or no blood found within them. The Western Trading Company has dismissed these reports as silly rumours.
Word on the streets of the Slums District is that there was an attempt on the leader of Diiri’s Boys gang. It is unsure what the result was but the gang has tightened its grasp on the area, with more than normal gang members walking the street and alleyways.

Conch is abuzz with the news that Giona Morton, controversial editor of the Conch Champion, has mysteriously vanished. He was last seen yesterday at mid-morning in the Conch bank, but Morton did not return to his office or home. When his staff reporting him missing, WNTC guards searched the office of the Conch Champion and found on Morton’s desk a copy of the latest issue. The cryptic message “Sit more, be where her port lies” was scrawled in purple ink on the front page. Morton’s staff could provide no clues other than saying that their editor’s behaviour has become increasingly erratic of late.

The sick and their carers in the slums notice a strange phenomenon this week. For a few days injuries healed slightly faster and the ill recovered a little quicker than expected. No one could explain what caused the effect but it was experienced by the ill and hurt whatever their condition, but only those in West Conch. Whatever the cause, it seemed to fade after a few days leaving those who noticed it confused but grateful.

In the days since the strange rats, the vast sums of halfling disappearances and the shadow they formed over Hilltop. It seems the region is still not rid of its perils. In recent days, outside villages and hamlets, merchants along the trade roads and even river ships have spied masses of bands of armored warriors.
The bands always number no more then thirty, and consist of strange half-breeds. Orcs with long arms and hunched backs like trolls. Orogs and giant men with various colored scales, draconic and demonic wings standing. And other unnatural spawn of a vivisectors dream.
The bands attack the most defenseless of villages, often burning homes and taking away plunder. So far, only a few deaths have been reported by the sad refugees that begin making their way to any walled city. Conch is especially overrun by refugees, filling the slums further and Hilltop has seen many outside hins arriving to their small village. The mayor of Hilltop and the resident mage are struggling to accommodate their new arrivals.
And perhaps sensing opportunity, bands of mercenaries from official forces to small squads of former brigands looking to make some “legit” money have begun showing up offering their services for a hefty price. But it all seems a prelude to something darker and bloodier.

Those who dare travel the cursed trails of the once Voust claimed land in the Southern Woods have made mention of a small tower appearing on the outskirts of the woods.
Despite the thick and unfaltering darkness that has plagued the area for as long as any can remember, strange sounds and lights have been spotted from the peak of the tower. Some mention that it's almost as if the shadows themselves have began to recede from the small plot of land the tower sits upon.

With the slow arrival of groups of refugees fleeing something called “The devil queen and her monsters” it is clear something is raising along the outskirts of Conch and other bastions of civilization.
For many of these refugees they find themselves pushed to the slums; of which the gangs both approve and resent as they get new members but so is their competition.
Still there is a slight light of hope. A cleric of Illmater and her congregation have been busily bringing in supplies to a well stocked soup kitchen and has become something of a tent town where beggars not wanting to join the gangs can at least have a warm meal and someplace safe.
Some of the gangs however grumble and speaking of “another gang coming up” when small shipments of clubs, sickles and a few lumber axes seem to be delivered to the slums under the eyes of the said cleric.

Rumors spread around the lands near Sullivan and beyond towards Conch and Hadrian. A new tribe of gnolls has appeared. They make no parley with Sullivan, though do not earn his ire either. Instead they hunt the woods and lands, butchering monsters, beasts and others of their kind from lesser tribes. One noticeable factor is that these gnoll stop to eat those they fight so that they might rush into battle with blood on their maws.
No one knows who leads these gnolls, but it is clear that the land will be changed by their arrival.

There is much of note of late in the realms.
In Hilltop, the hins and their many refugees find respite from their woes by an influx of coin and supplies from Allies and they have managed to get their food and housing problem mostly under control with the new refugee hins and have managed to form a militia. However postings from the Fane in Conch has some concerned and some curious. Most hins proclaim that all they need are their own gods to fortify them in the times to come, but many of the former Dark Stalkers seem interested in the fliers and mutter of “getting their just punishment”
In conch a religious duel of the minds seems underway in the Slums as the same Fane, a group of known lovaitorites makes offers of strength to those that bend to the maidens lash. Many fear and obey as the Angels of Small virtues advised and tear down the posters to use for fires.
But some of the more despondent stare towards the Fanes known location with a far off look. Could the lash ease the pain they few from their lose of home and family? Is a few moments pain worth the chance for strength…maybe revenge?
The Slums vibrate more with the throng of refugees, but it seems the stream has paused for now. Still the leader of the Diri boys rages at the Souppers and works to hire more of the desperate to their ranks. In the market, the West Netheril trading company begins hiring more guards for their caravans on the ground and bemoan the increase in bandits; with some openly exclaiming when the city was under Netherese rule nothing like this happened.(this is up for debate in many circles)
And the arrival of the rumored bands of mercenaries slowly comes true as four flags begin making their stand in camps on the outskirts of cities from Conch, to Sullivan to Hadrian and Southbank. The times feel calm for now though….but even the most drunk of fools can sense something is coming….

An excavation crew has cleared a shaft to another level of the crypts beneath the Conch graveyard. The crew were funded by West Netheril Trading Company and the company also paid the Solemn Mourners of Conch gang an undisclosed fee to be able dig unmolested. Oddly, WNTC have not explored the level themselves but instead said they will pay good money to anyone who delves into it and brings back information. There is much speculation amongst barflies about what is down there, with some saying it must be dangerous if WNTC are not willing to send their own people down there. Nevertheless adventurers are already rushing to the graveyard.

The annual Gift Day starts today over the next six days, where the West Netheril Trade Company setup a Gift Tree in the top market area. This tradition going back to the first days of the city and gifts are placed under a snow covered tree for the citizens.

Complaints from the citizens of the Upper District continue to be heard about small tremors that shake their houses, causing minor damage from time to time. These concerns of the citizens seem to fall on deaf ears or dismissed with the local authorities.
Some say it is some type of construct in the sewer area and other say it is coming from the temple, but rumours continue to be heard about what is causing these tremors in the Upper District.

In an effort to attract halflings to defend and repair Hilltop, the Mayor has opened up a number of properties to rent. These funds will be put into the new walls at the eastern entrance and repairs to the hamlet.
Rumours persist that there is an evil within the hamlet, some point to the increased mining for the new walls and others think it is under the lake ... either way those left in the hamlet continue to live a hard life after resent events and the continued threat of war in the region.

Those walking the streets of the Upper District of Conch, notice large creates and statues being moved into the Nebular University of the Arcane Arts. Some say these odd looking statues are being added to the university as decorative features but others say they have been bought in to study.
Stories are being told that the Hamlet of Hilltop is currently plagued and travellers/merchants a like have limited their travels to the area. Some say it was from the recent war and battles in and around the hamlet. Others say it is a disease that only effects halflings and due to this hin are questioned and sometimes turned away by guards of villages, towns and cities in the region.

Stories and reports of more than normal amount of zombies being seen in the Graveyard area of Conch are of a concern. Some say it is The Mourners gang of the Slums but other say their must be more behind it.
A challenge has been set in the Slums Arena by a family of Half Orcs ... The Briqs ! Two brothers and a sister, it is said the sister is the eldest and has other skills the other two younger brothers do not possess. Make sure you do not become one of their trophies.
