Been playing a while? Got a few tips and tricks that might help out someone else? Something NWN specific or Netheril specific?
Post them here!
Please avoid quest spoilers and game exploits.

NWN: Don't use quotes in your character name. Other players can't message you from the player list if you have quotes.
Netheril: Don't lie down in the fugue! It will cause you not to get raised by the NPC but still lose the xp.

If your in a DM event especially, lay off the party chat. It fills up our chat window regardless of who or where they are and it can mean we miss out on DM channel or private messages that could effect the event itself. 8)

If you're a mage, consider investing in invisibility. You're a mage, not a knight. You're allowed to be a coward. ;)

Netheril: Mess around with the player tool. A cool feature I've found allows you to knock on closed doors. No more barging into unlocked inn rooms to find someone(s) already occupying it! Use the tool on the door.

NWN: Use detect mode or shift+click to walk into fights, you'll avoid manyf attacks of opportunity ;)

Efficient playstyles shift over time based on a "meta", like in competitive games. Strategies will come to be common place, especially for casters. Don't let those strategies dictate how to play your character, but recognize you'll have to prove your worth if you do.
Example, for a while wizards will do little but buff warriors, then clerics will be self buffing front liners, then nukes and crowd control will come into prominence. Pick a class and pick the spells you consider fun and appropriate for your character as well as efficient, not just the latter.

If you are a mage and you are trying to solo, Summons are your best friend, summon a monster, use invisibility on yourself and let the monster do your work for you.
