We continue the offer to any that are keen enough to provide tales and lore to the Library.

In the past, I have had an assistant that has walked with the local adventurers I continue to watch out for the next person.

General Discussion / Re: Death penalties
« on: October 25, 2018, 07:59:37 am »
This was just a discussion on your feelings about Death Penalties.

We are not currently looking to make any changes at this time but we are always interested in players and the communities feedback around these matters.

Feedback and Bugs / Re: Remove the prostitutes and walking commoners
« on: October 23, 2018, 11:31:06 am »
In the past week or so I have removed some AI NPC that roam around ( like some lanterns at night and some commoners during the day ) to help with lag issues but in this setting/server plus with the new players to NWN EE, we need to have these NPCs to add the ambiance of some characters other than PC players walking around to give the feel that it is not a lifeless Citadel/Town or village.

I understand your concern, maybe we can move/review some of the ambient WP's in the main areas, like in front of the Coin and Port area?

The early record held in the fishing village of Hadrian many years ago even before the Enclave of Valstiir turned up, speak of a Dwarven Settlement that kept to themselves and traded little with the humans on the surface.

All that is known is the any and all trade stopped with the Dwarves and the Orc hordes took over the mines. The Orcs continue to this day to be a threat to Southbank and Hadrian with their access to the resources of the mines. Recent attacks on the Elven town of Nualla'n and Southbank have given thoughts that they had been searching for something or testing defenses but no one really knows the goal of the Orcs.

Reports on the attack on Nualla'n suggest they had been looking for something and the reports on the resent Southbank attacks state they have obtained a growth artifact due to the size of the Orcs seen on the old battlefield. What this has to do with the old dwarven settlement is unknown but these are some of the points in time that affected the old dwarven mines.

Netherese Library / Re: Law books
« on: October 22, 2018, 12:17:08 am »
Will walks in and scratches his head as he looks for any and all books on Imperial Law, Hadriatic Law, and public tax ledgers regarding each house, Guild, and Hadrian infrastructure.

Imperial Law - references to this is very general and mostly refer to acts against the Empire as a whole, as the Empire is run by its Enclaves and there Archmages. As in most Empires, the threats came from outside its borders mostly but internal conflicts did happen between Enclaves and unless a threat to the Empire itself, where left to those involved to sort out.

Hadriatic Law - Town and city law was governed by the one controlling the town or the influence of an Enclave, in this case, Hadian law was governed by the Enclave of Valstiir. Most if not all of the laws the that was the adhered to in the Enclave effected life in the town and its area of influence around the Enclave. Some local laws could differ from the Enclave as long as it didn't affect the running of Enclave itself.

Public tax ledgers - In regards to Hadrian, the Mayor's office is responsible for the collection and distribution of funds raised by any tax. The Mayors Office does so with the help of the three Noble houses who control and run different areas of town and enclave life. Taxes are collected in general for the upkeep and protection of the town and enclave above. Percentages of any taxes collected would go to Guard wages, Port Officials, Mayors Office, and general upkeep. The Mayor's office controls the collection of assets sold like houses/estates and uses these funds at his or her discretion. Any Guild tax would be up to the contract confirmed and provided, but the Arcanist Guild is not in Hadrian or Valstiir, therefore doesn't pay any taxes but does offer its services if needed for the Empire.

Hadrian infrastructure - As stated before this mostly falls with the Nobles houses, where Archmage Valstiir has given them areas of control and influence in the town and enclave. Put simply Dukarrus influence and control would be the protection of the town and enclave, Reschotti influence and control is trade and finances and Skettus influence and control is information. Buildings outside of the control of the Nobles houses fall to the Mayor's office and the upkeep of roads and port facilities.

The Librarian goes on to say that the Council has been researching current laws and believes they are close to releasing an updated version to suit the current environment.

Little is found on Crypts of Moander other than religious references. Some factional reports from adventurers about odd creatures but no reference to a portal.

Netherese Library / Re: Research: Southbank Orcan hills.
« on: October 03, 2018, 08:42:33 am »
The Librarian refers you to an unfinished book on lore and story about a lost settlement in the Orc Hill.

It has little detail but has references to ghosts and a tale of a last stand by the dwarves.

It seems all other information was lost with the downfall of this settlement.

Just to confirm I have tested each of the Hidden Markers and all are working.

A player found an old marker ( from the original mod ) and that marker has been added to the current 8 normal markers plus a new one to bring the total to 10 markers and 3 hidden ones.

Thanks for those players that have been getting out and about hunting down these markers and the feedback given.

Continue the Hunt :)

You say there is more to be written, what else do you have to say?

Submit what you want I don't see any issues in your words.

I was moving some old books around the library when a part of an odd map dropped from one of the elven books.

The landscape has changed somewhat, but I can make out some landmarks. My best guess is the mountain near the Southern Woods, but hard to tell without the rest of the map.

Another reference in these books I moved into the Elven section, was those that protected the so-called First Tree .. Keepers of the Tree. Sounds like an old druid circle, maybe there have left the area or remain in hiding.

I don't know if this helps, but I found a reference to a Black Unicorn sighted in the Dark Woods near Sullivans Trading.

The source can be unreliable at times but a lead none the less
