How can we make the use of pick pocket interesting?
Should we just disable it?
Should it be on a timer?
Should there be things you can't PP?
Open to suggestions!

Id go with a weight cap or limit PP to Gold, keys, even potions should be fine. Losing your entire inventory would be a massive pain in the arse.

10-100gp unless dm is present.

You can steal gold. If you want to steal specific item, ask DM to watch. If you succeed, DM will steal it for you.

This just seems to be the most appropriate way to do it.

I think a timer would be a good idea.
You can't hit (and succeed on) the same mark more than once in a 24 RL hour period.
I also like the gold idea with DM supervision for other specific items.

As a former UO player I'd like to request that the pickpocket feature be curbed a bit but not made too Care Bearish. Rein it in but not make it like it's pointless... Alley rats need to eat too after all.

Just make sure to set Hostile on the target you are stealing from. It is a hostile pvp action.

If PVP pickpocket is nerfed I think there should be multiple instances for uses against NPC's

As a player who does play rogues, hostiling the target, makes it very easy to metagame whats going on....though understand in the same instance...you get caught, you get a beat down fairly. You don't get to complain about it.

Timer per target and weight/size limiting stuff that can be taken. I'd be cool with one of my gems or jewelry being taken but not my full plate.
-
Also price limiting would be nice. Stealing very expensive items would be crippling for the owner and too easy wealth for the thief.
-
Coin limit, like 100 or 300 coins look enough. With the weight/size limit, would be ideal. I can not imagine someone stealing things heavier than 0.5 or 1 ingame without get caught. It's not skyrim.

I'd give important dm loot or plot items unstealable, and leave as is. Buff the amount of gold you can get by stealing too.
So far if i've seen someone be caught pickpocketing, it's pretty much a death sentence if someone doesn't intervene. So it better be worth it.

You can chain pickpocket tens of thousands of gold worth of stuff off of a person in the span of a minute with close to no chance of failure if you build correctly. I think people should be rewarded for taking those risks, but it's too much as is.
